Finally a little time to sit down and share....

School started for students August 10th. I LOVE the Library!! I am so excited and motivated yet overwhelmed and even a little discouraged at the same time. As always I feel my program is the most important and therefore I put forth 100%. I had orientation all week and I am so happy for it to finally be over with. I think the kids are pretty excited about the library and the changes I have made but I know they are excited about Dewey & Decimal. Dewey and Decimal are the corn snakes which I have so bravely adopted as our library friends. What was I thinking? Well honestly I was thinking about the kids. I want to get them in the library and this sounded like the perfect way to do it. I have always wanted a classroom pet and well now I have 2...wait a minute can you really call snakes pets...I don't think so. Mrs. Morning Moulden donated them to me...frankly she was thrilled to get them out of her house. I took them to school Monday after feeding them Sunday night. It was a long week and tonight was a long night dealing with them. I brought them home in order to clean out their habitat(aquarium) and feed them. Dewey has been doing great but Decimal has not been looking so good. Tonight I took Decimal out for a quick bath in hopes of helping him shed his skin...it worked. We then fed him 2 mice...frozen/thawed/heated mice. WOW...I thought snakes were pretty low maintenance but let me tell you we (the entire family...dogs and cats too) we on the porch trying to feed, bath, clean up these slimy critters for several hours. In fact I know I was out there for 2 hours. Not real sure how long the snakes are going to be my library pets but then again we all know how much I would hate to let the students down. I will be posting pictures of this snake feeding/cleaning adventure in the morning. I know you all can't wait!
Enough about me...Richard and the kids are doing GREAT! Savannah is still the best nanny ever and Richard and I still enjoy each and every day watching them grow. Trey is super smart and Bess is super sassy!
I have to say lately they are both into superman and batman so keep your eyes out for those funny and super cute pictures. Well it sure is late and I have lots to do in the morning.
I hope this journal entry finds everyone well and I hope to hear from you all soon.
Much love,
Hollis and family

Update...

So I was checking out a friends blog the other day and well I decided I need to journal more so, here goes....
Well summer flew by. I finished up my library media internship and I now have a job at Floyd Middle Magnet School in Montgomery. I am super excited! So far everything is going great! The kids are still having fun at home in Hardaway with Miss Savannah. We LOVE her! She is such a blessing.
Trey is into sports. He loves soccer, football, and baseball. He is such a big boy with such grown up things to say. Its hard to believe we were worried about him not talking when he was a one year old.
Bess is into EVERYTHING and she is so very Sassy! She is giving looks these days and believe it or not she will even roll her eyes. As for talking, she does that when she wants. Most of the time she is quick to tell you no and say thank you.
Richard is still working for MLC as well as everyone else in need of landscaping or irrigation work. Thank goodness he is the best husband and father and therefore these jobs do not interfere with family time.
With all of our happy news we also have a little sad news. On July 19th my grandmother, Bobby Cranford, peacefully passed away. This has been and still is hard for me to accept however I know she is much happier in heaven and she is not in pain.
All that said, our family is full of laughs and enjoying each day!
I will be attaching many pictures as soon as I get a little time to reformat them and upload. Please stay tuned for super cute pictures of my little rugrats!!
